Lahore: CIA kills three terrorists in shootout

LAHORE: Three terror suspects belonging to a banned outfit were killed in an encounter with Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), police officials said Tuesday.

“Three militants were shot dead and a police officer was injured in the shootout that broke out in Batapur village near Lahore,” a police official said.

Arms, grenades, explosives, bomb-making paraphernalia, hate literature, etc were also seized in the post gunbattle search, the official added.

“The injured cop identified as Sub-Inspector Maqsood Hayat was rushed to the hospital immediately. He is stable now,” another senior CIA official said.

Batapur is a village near the city of Lahore, Pakistan. It was established as a residence for the workers of Bata shoe factory. The nearest international airport is the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
