LARKANA: Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) protest finally woke the provincial government up on Saturday through their long sit-in as Sindh government finally signed a written agreement to refer the murder case of Dr. Khalid Soomro to military court within 10 days. After the agreement, JUI-F workers called off the sit-ins at 18 different places in the province.
The talks between JUI-F and the administration bore fruit when a written agreement was signed between Commissioner, DIG and Rashid Soomro. According to the agreement, the murder case will be referred to the military court within 10 days. In case of noncompliance, a sit-in will be held outside Chief Minister (CM) House in Karachi on January 26.
Earlier, Dr. Khalid Soomro’s son Rashid Soomro led a rally of JUI-F workers towards Naudero from Larkana.
The protesters even stopped Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani’s car at Naudero Bypass. JUI-F workers also held a sit-in at the Babar Lo Bypass as well, blocking the traffic between Karachi and Lahore. A long queue of cars was thus observed at the road. The passengers had to face serious trouble due to the protest. The protesters kept raising slogans against the government during the protest.
JUI-F protesters also protested in Kandh Kot, Jacobabad and Obarro, blocking the roads by lighting tyres on various highways.
