KARACHI: Sindh Rangers chief Maj-Gen Bilal Akbhar today met Governor Ishratul Ebad and discussed law and order situation.
The meeting comes on the eve of third phase of Local Government elections, slated to be held in Karachi on Saturday, December 5.
According to sources, DG Rangers briefed the governor about the arrangements made for the elections.
Maj-Gen Bilal Akbar told the governor that fool-proof security measures were put in place at sensitive polling stations to maintain law and order.
A day earlier, Rangers chief called upon the people of Karachi to exercise their right to vote in the elections and must not feel any pressure or fear from any group.
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, 94 percent polling stations have been declared sensitive or very sensitive in the Sindh provincial capital, which is known for election-related violence and intimidation.
