LG Polls: Several injured in various clashes during polling

The polling stations at various places turned into a battlefield as supporters of different participating candidates clashed with each other during voting time for second phase of local government elections in Punjab and Sindh here on Thursday.

A scuffle was broke out between PTI and PML-N workers in UC-52 of Gujranwala, injuring PTI leader Bhola Gujjar.

On the other hand, the situation has turned violent in Chihcha Watni as firing in UC-56 severely wounded PTI candidate for councillor Rana Waseem. Heavy contingent of policemen was called on to handle the matter.

Polling was temporarily stopped after confrontation between independent candidate and PML-N workers in Ward 9 of Khanewal.

The army personnel were summoned to take over the charge in the area.
