KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) head Siraj ul Haq announced that he would lead a rally in Karachi on Nov 28 as part of party’s campaign for the Local Government elections in the city.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Haq said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan would also attend the rally.
“We have entered into an alliance with PTI for the sake of Karachi’s future,” Haq added.
Haq called upon the people of Karachi to overcome their fear and come out in big numbers to vote for the JI-PTI alliance.
The JI chief hoped that Karachiites would themselves launch a real operation on December 5.
“One section of Karachi is expert in carrying out rigging in polls. But we want to prevent the past practice of selection instead of elections.”
Speaking on this occasion, PTI Karachi chief Syed Ali Zaidi said that ‘Naya Pakistan’ would be launched from Karachi.
Zaidi added that both PTI and JI would provide good alternate leadership to the metropolitan city as nobody can accuse Siraj ul Haq and Imran Khan of corruption.
