LAHORE: Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that getting elected as Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan is no longer in PTI chief Imran Khan’s fate.
While talking to the media outside Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said that opposition is only working on agenda that is aimed at dismissing PM Nawaz Sharif from his seat. Opposition is not tabling workable demands over corruption allegations against the government, he added.
Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Mehmoodur Rasheed responded to Sanaullah’s criticism and said that two small rallies have calmed the Prime Minister down as people were not attending ruling party’s rallies.
He said that Prime Minister Nawaz’s dismissal was inevitable and now hunt for his replacement was underway.
PM Nawaz would have to step down and elect a fresh Prime Minister from the House to resolve Panama leaks issue, he added. Leader of the Opposition said that the government was heading towards its last days of power.
Entire nation wants to see Nawaz Sharif step down from premiership, he added.
It should be mentioned here that joint opposition had earlier announced to stage a sit-in today outside Punjab Assembly over Panama leaks issue.
Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has received a lot of flak after his daughter and family members were named in Panama leaks for owning offshore companies for alleged tax evasion.
PTI chief Imran Khan has been demanding the Prime Minister to resign ever since the leaks surfaced. Reportedly, PTI will offer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) and Pakistan People s Party (PPP) to participant in the demonstration.
