Met Office forecasts heavy rains across country

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain-thundershower accompanied by strong gusty winds in Balochistan with isolated heavy rain in Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi and Naseerabad divisions, while scattered rain-thundershower in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sukkur, Larkana divisions and FATA.

Isolated rain-thundershower is also expected in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions and lower Sindh (Karachi and Hyderabad divisions). Isolated hailstorm is also likely during the period.

Met Office has also issued warning that heavy downpours may generate urban flooding in major cities and flash flooding in the vulnerable areas of Balochistan, KP, FATA, DG Khan, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir.

The fishermen of Balochistan carrying small boats are advised to remain careful during next two days.
