KARACHI: The three schoolgirls who went missing in Karachi’s Saudabad locality on Friday have been recovered.
The girls were found after a joint raid by Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) at Liaquatabad Number 10, said CPLC chief Zubair Habib.
One suspect named Aijaz was arrested from Liaquatabad Number 10 during the raid, on whose indication the girls were recovered from a house in the locality, the CPLC chief said.
The girls were taken to an unknown location for interrogation, following which they will be handed over to the concerned police station.
Five boys have been detained by the police in relation to the incident.
According to details, the girls Bisma, Iqra and Rabiya did not return to their houses on Friday after school. The parents of the girls said that they had dropped the girls to the school. However, the school administration said that the girls did not attend school on Friday.
The parents, later on, lodged the missing complaint in Saudabad police station. According to the neighbours, one of the missing girls answered the phone call at 5pm but did not talk.
Police officials claim that the girls were in contact with the boys who have been taken into custody. They said that text messages of the girls were found on the mobile phones of the boys.
