MQM, PTI set for water protest today in Karachi

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced to hold their separate protests over water shortage in the Karachi today (Sunday).

According to our correspondent, MQM will take out a rally from central city to Chief Minister House.

On the other hand, PTI has announced to take out four protest rallies in different areas to highlight the water crisis in city of 2.5 million.

The port city of Karachi gets just 450 million gallons of water daily against its demand of more than one billion gallons.

To counter the protest rallies, the Red Zone that houses Chief Minister’s residence has been sealed with container amid heavy deployment of police and Rangers.
