MQM stages walkout from Sindh Assembly over Asif remarks

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) leader Rauf Siddiqui strongly criticized the provincial and federal government including Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif today (Thursday) in Sindh Assembly.

Rauf Siddiqui stated that if others will level allegations against MQM chief Altaf Hussain then they will also not refrain from giving them a befitting reply.

Siddiqui also said that many ministers will be hiding their faces if MQM opened October 12 narrative.

During the budget discussion, MQM’s Muhammad Hussain demanded the speaker to table condemnation resolution against Defence Minister Khawaja Asif however; the speaker while providing relaxation in the roll refused to allow permission for presenting the resolution.

In reaction, harsh words were exchanged between the speaker and Muhammad Hussain whereas MQM members staged a walk out from the house.

Later, senior minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Sindh Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sikandar Mandro persuaded the members back to the house after successful talks.
