ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday revealed that the recently held NA-122 by-election was contested between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s allegations and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s legitimacy.
Talking to newsmen in Islamabad, the minister lashed out at Imran Khan, stating that Khan’s false accusations were crushed by general masses in NA-122 polls.
He tauntingly said that ‘The Moula Jutt Khan’ has turned into ‘Yumla Jutt’ after Lahoris announced their verdict in the favor of PML-N’s Ayaz Sadiq on October 11.
As per results, former National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has gained 74,525 votes whereas Aleem Khan bagged 72,082 votes.
PML-N has bagged same number of votes as it secured in general elections in 2013, he claimed.
He stated PTI is condemning development projects in Lahore at one hand but is begging for votes on the other. He said the claimants seeking development in Pakistan are now opposing Metrobus and Orange Line train service.
Talking about Indian vicious reaction over recent incident in which workers of Hindu extremist group Shiv Sena attacked the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni, who is organising former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri s book launch in Mumbai, Rashid showed regression and strongly denounced Shiv Sena’s biased act.
