ISLAMABAD: National Command Authority has reaffirmed the resolve to maintain full spectrum deterrence capability to deter all forms of aggression.
Its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was held in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting also said Pakistan will adhere to the policy of avoiding an arms race in the region.
It said Pakistan seeks peace and strategic stability in South Asia as corner stone of its policy and it considers conflict resolution as the mean to achieve this objective.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmoud and services chiefs.
The meeting said that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear country.
It said Pakistan is determined to play its role with reference to nuclear non-proliferation.
The meeting said that Pakistan believes in resolution of conflicts through negotiations.
It said they are fully aware of the changes taking place in security situation in South Asia.
