ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaurdhy Nisar Ali Khan met with British High Commissioner to Pakistan Philip Barton on Tuesday.
According to sources, during the meeting the Pakistani government’s decision to prepare a reference for legal proceedings against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain was discussed. Barton and Nisar also spoke about the investigation of Dr. Imran Farooq’s murder case.
Earlier, speaking at the Rawalpindi Police Lines Chaudhry Nisar said the government was preparing a reference for initiating legal proceedings against MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
Nisar said that there was no personal enmity with either the MQM or its chief and that Altaf Hussain was facing a legal and not a political case.
