ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday said that no proposal is under consideration to replace Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif adding that there had been no discussion regarding appointment of country’s acting premier including Ayaz himself, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
With respect to drone attacks, he said that the parliamentarians would have to observe joint stance and raise the issue on diplomatic forum. He had directed Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz to chair NA’s foreign and defence related committees’ joint meeting in this regard.
Sadiq further stated that United States (US) needed to take Pakistan into confidence over the drone issue as drone attacks violated Pakistan’s sovereignty. The adjournment motion on drone attacks would be reviewed in the meeting of joint committees, he added.
The NA speaker revealed that the parliamentary committee had called on a meeting between Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah, government members and opposition members. He said that during his student life he unintentionally smashed hockey on a friend’s cheek but the pain was felt somewhere else.
Talking about Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Shiekh Rasheed, Ayaz Sadiq said that he always wanted to gain attention. Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz s (PML-N) fourth wicket would never fall while offshore companies and related issues should be resolved through legislation.
