Opposition announces mourning over Karachi heat deaths

ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties in the National Assembly has announced to observe Friday as day of mourning over 475 deaths caused by devastating heat in Karachi and other cities of Sindh in last three days.

The decision was taken at meeting of opposition parties chaired by Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah.

The meeting was also attended by PTI’s Arif Alvi and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Raheed Ahmed and others.

The PPP-led opposition parties have decided that day of mourning would be observed across the country on Friday to mourn the death of over 475 people in Karachi.

The opposition lawmakers on Monday staged a walkout from the assembly, protesting against government over prolonged power failures across the country in the holy month of Ramazan.
