ISLAMABAD: The two main opposition parties have rejected a three-member inquiry commission led by Justice (retd) Sarmad Jalal Osmany for investigation into Panama Papers leaks.

According to reports, Justice (retd) Osmany would head the commission to be constituted under 1956 Inquiry Act.

The other members of the commission included ICAP President Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf, while a police official or a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official would be included in the commission.

However, the opposition has rejected the commission, saying the wife of Justice (retd) Osmany is affiliated with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The opposition leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said that his party had reservations the day Prime Minister Sharif announced to constitute the commission.
