Pak Army set up relief camp in drought-hit Thar

THARPARKAR/MITHI: The death toll due to food shortage, pneumonia and diarrhea reaches 49 as three more toddlers lost their lives, the Pakistan Army has set up a relief camp in Tharparkar on Friday.

Dozens of people have been hospitalized in Mithi Civil Hospital. Meanwhile, hundreds of children have been admitted to other hospitals as well.

Sindh government’s negligence has added to the miseries of Thar residents. So far, 49 children have lost their lives this year, whereas, the death toll escalated to 646 in 2014.

The relief camp was set up by the Pakistan Army’s Eighteenth Division in Tahparkar’s Kaneko village, in which food items and medicines are being distributed.

Pakistan Army is also providing clean and fresh water to the Thar resident.
