Pak-US cooperation moving in right direction: Sartaj

ISLAMABAD: Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said Pakistan-US cooperation is moving in the positive direction especially in defence, economy and energy sectors.

Aziz was talking to U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Daniel Feldman here today.

The Adviser underscored the comprehensive measures taken by Pakistan to counter terrorism and extremism.

Aziz also briefed the U.S. envoy about the improvement in Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan and the current status of relations with India.

Ambassador Daniel Feldman expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the efforts to root out terrorism and extremism and the success achieved so far.

US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Daniel Feldman also called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting issue of mutual interest and regional security situation came under discussion.

Ambassador Feldman appreciated sacrifices and efforts by Pakistani security forces for peace and stability in the region.
