Pakistan, Malaysia naval chiefs discuss bilateral defence ties

KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah today met with Malaysian defence officials and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations.

Admiral Zakaullah, who is on an official visit to Malaysia, called on Minister of Defence Hishamuddin Hussein, Chief of Defence Forces General Zulkifeli Bin Mohd Zin and Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy Admiral Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin.

The naval chief was received by his Admiral Ahmad Kamerulzaman at Malaysian Naval Headquarters, where a ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented.

During the meeting, Admiral Zakaullah dilated upon bilateral naval collaboration.

“Pakistan’s commitment and performance in fight against terrorism including participation in CMCP and Counter Piracy Operations as well as Command of multinational Task Forces 150 and 151 also came under discussion,” a statement by Pakistan Navy said.

The naval chief highlighted the significance of close and strong relations based on mutual respect and understanding between Pakistan and Malaysia. The visit will enhance and expand collaboration between the two countries, he added.
