ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan announced on Sunday to adopt a legal course in United Kingdom against the controversial speeches of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, NewsONE reported.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Interior Minister said that Pakistani government would also take up the issue with UK authorities.

“We have already started preparing a draft for the legal action,” Nisar said. “We will send dossier to Metropolitan police.”

The interior minister added that Pakistan would continue to extend its support to British authorities regarding Imran Farooq murder probe.

Nisar said that Hussain’s last night speech was aimed at ridiculing and insulting the state institutions and armed forces of Pakistan. “The language used by Altaf Hussain can be of an enemy.”

Nisar said that nobody except MQM had lodged a protest against the ongoing operation in Karachi.

Altaf Hussain has invited NATO and India to Karachi, Nisar stated.

“Our armed forces are fighting a war of Pakistan’ survival and we are bound to respect them,” he maintained.

However, Nisar said that the government would not challenge MQM’s political status, which was a reality and government respects it.
