ISLAMABAD: Foreign office (FO) spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah on Thursday said that Pakistan is in contact with India to determine the date of Foreign Secretary level talks.

During media briefing, he said that Pakistan strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Indonesia and is against terrorism in the entire region.

Khalilullah said that he cannot give any confirmation regarding the protective custody of Maulana Masood Azhar.

FO spokesperson clarified that date for the Foreign Secretary level talks was not decided before and expressed no knowledge of the possible meeting between the National Security Advisers of both the countries.

While talking about the Saudi-Iran tensions, the FO spokesperson stated that Iran is Pakistan’s close neighbouring country and the government wants to solve the issues between the two countries in a peaceful manner.

Talking about the attack on Pakistan’s consulate in Afghanistan, Qazi Khalilullah said that more information has been sought from the Afghan government.

He also rejected the allegations of Afghan ambassador regarding 80 percent IS presence in Pakistan and termed it baseless.

The Foreign Secretary level talks were scheduled during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lahore visit and the date was set as January 15.
