Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit said on Friday that Pakistan would not leave Kashmiris alone and would not abandon them as they continue their legitimate struggle for freedom, Indian media reported.

“No matter how much time their legitimate struggle takes, Pakistan will never abandon Kashmiris and their cause,” said Basit, who had recently created controversy inviting Hurriyet leaders and other separatist leaders to an Eid Milan party on July 21.

On Thursday, PM’s advisor on national security and foreign affairs Sartaz Aziz confirmed he will participate in the talks.

As Pakistan is expected to question the lethargy in investigating the killing of its citizens in Samjhauta Express blasts in 2007, India would raise the issue of attack in Gurdaspur on July 27, which it claimed was perpetrated by the former.
