ISLAMABAD: The government delegation on Tuesday called on the Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq and briefed them about the government’s plan for investigation into Panama leaks.
Federal Minister for Broadcasting and Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid and Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique met with the JI leaders.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Saad Rafique said that final decision about transparent investigation into Panama leaks and TORs of commission after consultation with the political parties.
The nation has a right to know the facts, but should refrain from speculations, he added. On this occasion, Siraj-ul-Haq said that ministers presented the government’s stance on the issue, adding that it national issue should be sorted out through dialogues.
“It is good to see that government is showing flexibility over the issue,” he added.
Siraj also said that the JI has adopted non-emotional stance over Panama Leaks and demanded formation of a commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan.
He also hoped that the government will show the same interest over Panama Leaks investigation as it did in the case of 21st amendment.
