PIA Chairman resignation accepted by PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved resignation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chairman, Nasir Jaffar, who stepped down on Tuesday.

The chairman resigned from his office after killing of two PIA workers in firing during clash with police and Rangers at Karachi airport.

According to our correspondent, sources in the Prime Minister House confirm that Nasir Jaffar’s resignation has been accepted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Reports said Secretary Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Irfan Elahi has been assigned extra charge of PIA Chairman’s office till the high-level appointment.
