PM arrives in New York for 70th UN General Assembly session

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday arrived in New York to lead the Pakistan delegation at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Radio Pakistan reported.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s envoy to US Jalil Abbas Jilani along with senior officials of the Pakistan mission received the PM at the John F Kennedy International Airport.

The ambassador said that the UNGA session would be an opportunity for Pakistan to put its stance on the world stage.

Calling it a historical event, she said that around 160 world leaders are scheduled to attend this year’s session.
