PM chairing meeting of Cabinet Committee on Energy

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently chairing a high level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy on Thursday in Islamabad.

The Secretary Water and Power, Younus Dagha, is briefing the meeting regarding load management in Ramazan.

According to sources, the power crisis in Karachi as well as matters relating to K-Electric are also being discussed during the meeting.

Amongst other things being reviewed, is the electricity demand and supply situation from 2015 to 2018, as well as the transmission and distribution of electricity.

Also being discussed are alternative methods to produce power, including water, nuclear, wind, solar and LNG.
