PM directs to ensure safe evacuation of stranded tourists

LONDON: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has directed concerned officials to ensure safe evacuation of stranded tourists.

PM directed the Interior Secretary to contact the Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for help to the stranded tourists.

Earlier, Chief Meteorologist Dr Muhammad Hanif said said there are reports of snowfall in Naran, Kaghan and Gilgit Baltistan.

Hanif added snowfall in Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Ghanche and Chitral is also expected in the night.

Hanif further said there is possibility of landsliding in different parts of Kashmir and Hazara.

According to reports, roads have blocked in Kaghan valley due to heavy snowfall. This has left many tourists struck in the area.
