PM Nawaz performs ground breaking of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway

SIALKOT: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says motorways and highways networks will be extended to connect all the parts of the country.

He was addressing a public gathering after performing ground breaking of Lahore- Sialkot Motorway project in Sialkot on Monday evening.

He said that after the start of this project other motorway projects including Hyderabad-Karachi, Gwadar-Khunejrab, Multan-Sukhar and other projects will be started.

The Prime Minister said that today is a unique day in the history of Sialkot. He said that Sialkot-Lahore Motorway will be of the best quality that will connect Sialkot with the rest of the country. He said Sialkot-Pasror and Sialkot-Daska Road will also be constructed in near future.

The Prime Minister said the government will end load shedding from the country and concrete steps are being taken in this regard. He said due to government’s efforts load shedding has been considerably decreased in all parts of the country. He said power load shedding will be ended by 2018.

He said those holding sit-ins and protests are not interested in the favour of the development of the country.

The Prime Minister said that the backbone of the terrorists has been broken and terrorism will be completely eliminated from the country permanently very soon. He lauded the efforts and sacrifices of the security forces, police and people in eradication of terrorism from the country.

The Prime Minister said that the government has improved Pakistan Railways to serve the masses in the best form. He said PIA has also been revived.

The Prime Minister said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project after its completion will open new chapters of progress and development in the country.

He said the government is fully engaged to address the basic issues being faced by the country. He said due to the government’s efforts new job opportunities will be created to end unemployment in the country.

The Prime Minister said that power projects are being completed rapidly to provide cheaper electricity to people of eth country. He categorically stated that load shedding will be eliminated from the country by 2018.

The Prime Minister said that the government is working on its mandate of progress and development while some elements are working on the agenda of sit-ins and protests. He said those doing the politics of protests and sit-ins are creating hindrances in the path of development. He said people of Pakistan want prosperity, development and economic activity while certain elements are working to derail this process.

The Prime Minister said that during the next two years the government will complete numerous projects in diverse sectors which will emerge as bright chapters in the history of the country.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif in his address said government is making all out efforts to make the country an economic power.

He said the Prime Minister has turned the dream of the people of Sialkot into a reality.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said whenever Nawaz Sharif came into power he opened new avenues of prosperity and development for the people of the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister has performed the ground breaking of eighty nine kilometer long four-lane Sialkot-Lahore Motorway Project near Sambrial this evening by unveiling the plaque.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Director General Frontiers Works Organization Major General Muhammad Afzal and notables were also present on the occasion.

Director General Frontiers Works Organization Major General Muhammad Afzal briefed the Prime Minister about the salient features of the project.

He said four-lane Motorway will be completed in two years at a cost of forty-three billion rupees.

It will be linked with the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway near Kala Shah Kaku and the Lahore Ring Road near Mahmood Booti Band.

The Motorway will have six interchanges and two service areas.
