PM vows to eliminate load shedding by 2017-18

JHANG: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said the menace of electricity load shedding will be eliminated by 2017-18 after completion of power projects initiated by the government.

The premier was addressing after inaugurating work on 1230-megawatt LNG power project at Haveli Bahadar Shah near Jhang on Friday.

The Prime Minister observed that load shedding has already decreased by fifty percent in the country because of the steps taken by the government.

PM added that the PML(N) Government is completing a number of power projects, run by various sources of energy, including water, solar, coal, gas and wind.

PM Nawaz said that another new power plant project will be inaugurated at Balloki soon.

PM praised the untiring efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, concerned Ministers, and high up officials in establishing these projects.

Nawaz Sharif said work is also in progress on laying pipeline from country’s coasts to these LNG plants.

PM added that China Pakistan Economic Corridor project will bring prosperity to all ares of Pakistan.

Criticizing his political opponents for creating hurdles in the way of government’s public welfare programmes and other mega projects, the Prime Minister urged them to refrain from baseless criticism.
