PM will raise Kashmir issue in UN’s General Assembly session: Maleeha Lodhi

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhary in a briefing on Saturday stated that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will raise the issue of Kashmir on an international level during his address at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

She also stated that the issue of violation of Line of Control (LOC) will be raised during meeting with different leaders.

According to the statement issued, the PM will have an important meeting with the Chinese President Xi Jinping. PM Nawaz Sharif and US President Barak Obama will participate in the peace conference.

Ambassador Lodhi also stated that the matter of construction of wall at the border has been taken seriously. Lodhi stated that this construction was against the UN and international rules.

She stated that Pakistan has given the greatest sacrifices in the war against terror and this has been acknowledged by the whole world however, India has never taken a positive stance for these sacrifices.
