LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of planning to carry out rigging in the upcoming by-election of NA-122 at women polling stations.
“I want to ask my tigresses to remain alert in order to foil PML-N’s plans to rig the by-election,” Khan said while addressing a large gathering of supporters at Doongi Ground in Samanaabad area of Lahore.
“What kind of a system is there where instead of focusing on mobilizing voters, we focus on how to stop the rigging,” he questioned. “We want an army official to be present in the car when they are transporting ballots after polling.”
“They are planning to do rigging in women’s polling stations; PTI Tigresses be ready to not let this happen,” he said.
Khan challenged the PML-N’s popularity in Lahore, saying the ruling party has failed to hold a single jalsa at Minar-e-Pakistan.
“We have held filled up Minar-e-Pakistan thrice in two years, something PML-N has never been able to achieve,” he noted.
The PTI chief urged his voters to demonstrate patience before the will of God. “God has tested my patience for 19 years. May be God wanted me to expose PML-N’s rigging,” he said.
Khan said that his party, if came into power, would launch across the board accountability.
