KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of legendary cricketer ‘Little Master’ Hanif Mohammad.
In a statement, President Mamnoon Hussain said Hanif Mohammad’s contribution to cricket is commendable and it cannot be forgotten.
Separately, PM Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan lost its precious asset today. Hanif Mohammad was a legendary cricketer and a great man.
The Premier said services of Hanif Mohammad for promotion of cricket were matchless.
Also, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condoled demise of Hanif Mohammad.
Hanif Mohamamd breathed his last at a private hospital in Karachi on Thursday evening.
He was admitted in the hospital a week ago and was diagnosed with cancer.
Earlier today hospital staff declared him death when his breaths stopped for six minutes. Later his son, Shoaib Mohammad, said that his father was still alive and shifted to ventilator.
