KARACHI: Protests of opposition parties and outburst of ministers marred the proceedings of Sindh Assembly here on Tuesday and most of the agenda of the day remained unfinished.
When the sitting started the opposition members insisted that their resolutions be taken. However, Education Minister Nisar Khuhro stood and harshly spoke against the opposition.
However, he was given answer in the same currency by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) members who also chanted slogans of ‘shame, shame.’
Khuhro criticized the opposition parties for their press conference of previous day in which they had complained about the speaker.
However, the members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) protested when minister for local government Sharjeel Memon spoke on water shortage issue and took name of MQM MNA Dr Farooq Sattar.
Memon added water shortage was a real and serious issue of Karachi due to increased demand and meager supply of water to the mega city.
