LAHORE: NewsONE on Thursday has obtained a copy of inquiry commission’s report that refutes allegations leveled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the ruling party.
The report states that in light of evidences, PTI failed to prove rigging allegations. The authorities responsible held General Elections 2013 in accordance with the rules.
Few irregularities were reported on Election Commission of Pakistan s (ECP) part, report states.
It is also stated that the elections could not be declared rigged as no solid proofs were brought to light. However, the report states that PTI s demand for probe was legitimate.
The commission has stated that taking into account the evidences put forth, it could not be said that any specific party planned rigging the elections.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has expressed resentment over not getting the report s copy. He said that the report is nation s asset and not government s.
PTI is the most important stakeholder in the matter, he added. PTI senior vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the party accepts the commission s report. PTI s spokesperson Naeemul Haq said that the party would accept commission s conclusion however, they have not received a copy.
