ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leadership here on Friday decided to further postpone its much touted intra-party elections for indefinite period to pursue the ‘more national and pertinent’ issue of Panama Papers probe.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan chaired the party senior leadership meeting in Bani Gala. According to a statement, the intra-party elections were being postponed as the party want to build pressure on government for Panama Papers investigation.
“This is an opportunity for Pakistan to root out corruption, we will pursue this issue to the end,” said the PTI chairman.
“We want a forensic audit firm; I appeal to overseas Pakistanis to hire one on behalf of Pakistan to investigate Sharifs… this is an international situation; I call every stakeholder in Pakistan to join us in this.”
“This is internationally a huge opportunity, and a God given opportunity to Pakistan. The wave is global,” he said.
