ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that his party would attend the first anniversary of Model Town massacre.

At least 15 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded when police stored the headquarters of Minhajul Qurain in Lahore to remove barricades.

“We will join Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahir ul Qadri in the anniversary,” Khan told a press conference in Rawalpindi.

None of those involved in Model Town tragedy was brought to book in Punjab, he said, adding that police have been turned into mercenaries by Sharif brothers.

“Sharif brothers are responsible for the murder of two brothers in Rawalpindi. The killing happened as police were never penalized in any case,” he said.

Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F are hypocrites as they never raised their voice against the rigging of PML-N, he added.
