ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Monday announced to hold intra-party election after the party faced embarrassing defeat in local government elections in Punjab and Sindh provinces.
Talking to media after a meeting led by PTI chief Imran Khan, the PTI’s Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his party would become an institution after passing through a process of free and fair intra-party elections.
He said that a seven-member committee has been constituted to hold intra-party elections.
Qureshi claimed two families have occupied the entire country, and that the PTI performed better in Multan local government elections.
The PTI senior leader said that the party did not have experience of contesting local government elections which led to the party’s defeat in the LG elections.
