KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah met Faisal Baloch, a resident of Lyari, whose 10-month old daughter died as he failed to reach hospital due to hurdles apparently caused by presence of security protocol for Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari at the medical facility.
The PPP chairman accompanied by the CM and others was visiting the Civil Hospital Karachi to inaugurate trauma centre.
The death Bisma sparked fury among people, prompting the chief minister to visit the aggrieved family in PPP’s former stronghold of Lyari.
Qaim Ali Shah assured the family that a senior police official was holding the inquiry into the matter and also offered a government job to Faisal.
During his visit, Bilawal Bhutto also talked to Bisma’s father by telephone and offered condolence. Faisal Baloch told him that he was a staunch supporter of the Pakistan People’s Party and would not allow others to politicize death of his child.
It is learnt that the child was suffering from measles and was in dire need of medical attention when she breathed her last.
