QUETTA: At least three people were wounded in a bomb blast in Quetta on Wednesday evening, police said.
The blast took place at Meezan Chowk on the eve of Chehlum processions.
According to the police, the explosion was carried out with a time device.
Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti, who visited the scene, said that government was undeterred by such cowardly acts of terrorism. “It was a cracker blast which was aimed at spreading fear before Chehlum,” he said, adding that security was beefed up in the provincial capital.
Nobody has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, bomb disposal squad visited the area and collected evidence.
