ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed on Friday advised Imran Khan to abide by code of conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seemed adamant to hold its rally in Islamabad.
The minister said the rally has already caused a massive gridlock in the federal capital.
Rasheed added Imran Khan must comply with law to set an example for others. “Imran Khan is a big leader and it is incumbent upon him to abide by the law,” Rasheed said.
The minister said the rally would not impact outcome of election. When asked whether the law would take its course if Imran Khan decides to go ahead with his plan, he said the local administration would take decisions keeping in view the situation.
PML-N leader said Mian Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman had not addressed any election rally at all. The local government election would be held in Islamabad on November 30.
