ISLAMABAD: Lashing out at the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leaders said that the former Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar himself went to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), asking for an alliance.

Holding a press conference in Islamabad today, PML-N leader Zubair Umer said that PTI is trying to forge alliances because it is fearful of a crushing defeat. He said that the government never claimed that corruption has been completely eliminated but the graph during the Pervez Musharraf regime was extremely high.

Chairman Privatization Commission Zubair Umer said that these by-elections are highly important for the PML-N and its opponents.

Talking to media on this occasion, PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz said that PTI is trying to run from the election. “Imran Khan is rightly called as U-Turn Khan. He takes a U-turn on everything. PTI has lost every by-election. The party claiming to bring tsunami is yearning like a fish now”, he said.

Aziz said that PTI was crushed in the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) election. “The party has just begun. If PTI wants to go to the courts, it may. We are ready to face them in courts too”, he added.

Daniyal Aziz said that the government has no authority over National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Aziz added that nobody wants corruption in the country but PTI is crying loud about the same issue just because it wants to damage the democratic institutions. “Bad people can be anywhere”, he said.

PML-N MNA from Faisalabad Tallal Choudry said that the 7-party alliance proves that no single party can compete PML-N. “PTI is making alliances just to save itself. We didn’t go for the stay order, we went into people’s court”, said Choudry. He said that people like Justice (r) Wajihuddin are out of PTI while Abdul Aleem Khan is contesting the election.

Tallal further said that all these bigwigs of PTI are corrupt and will be held accountable one day or the other. “PTI went to PPP Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo’s home begging him for an alliance”, he said.

Tallal added that the names of Abdul Aleem Khan and Jahangir Tareen were among those responsible for rigging in PTI’s intra-party elections according to Justice (r) Wajihuddin’s report. “It tells us a lot about the quality of PTI candidates”, he said.

Talking about corruption, Tallal Choudry said that corruption has reduced in the country according to Transparency International. “People will support PML-N in the by-election. PTI has already become PTI (Q)”, he taunted.
