ISLAMABAD: Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Parliamentary Leader in National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar on Wednesday welcomed national unity on Kashmir issue and said, this opportunity must be translated into evolving an effective Kashmir policy.
The MQM leader lambasted India for atrocities against innocent people in Indian occupied Kashmiri and said international conscience must be awakened on this issue. “United Nations and international community must be persuaded to honor their decades old commitments to Kashmiri people to give them right to self-determination.”
He said Pakistan always desired peaceful resolution of outstanding issue between India and Pakistan including the core issue of Kashmir as he said Indian hegemonic designs will harm peace and progress in South Asia.
Indian war mongering will not only destabilize the South Asian region but also threaten world peace. Therefore, we need to engage in aggressive diplomacy to make world powers believe that Indian designs were a threat to global peace,” he said.
Farooq Sattar called upon the government and national leadership to sustain national unity and send a strong message across the border and to international community that they cannot shy away from long from giving Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination.
