ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought the 2002 Local Government election notification from the Attorney General immediately.

The apex court resumed its hearing today on the Islamabad LG polls to be held.

Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja said that the court needs to be informed if the polls cannot be held.

He also said that it seems a grave mistake has been made to depend on the government for the polls.

On Monday, the SC had said that it should know by Tuesday when the bill would be passed for the Islamabad LG elections.

Justice Khawaja had said that it didn’t seem that the polls would be held on July 25.
