KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday accused Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif of orchestrating Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s recent outburst against military.
“Nawaz Sharif used Zardari to issue a statement against the Pakistan army,” Imran alleged while talking to media upon his arrival in Karachi.
“Zardari delivered the anti-army speech in the backdrop of charter of democracy (CoD), but Nawaz Sharif backtracked,” Khan added.
Murtaza Poya still stands by his “35 punctures” claims, Khan said, referring to rigging allegations he leveled against former caretaker chief minister of Punjab Najam Sethi.
Khan said that Najam Sethi was rewarded following the election.
Imran said that he had proved before the judicial commission that the last general elections were engineered through Returning Officers.
Khan added that the purpose of his visit to Karachi is to materialize work on Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital in the city.
“Land has been allotted for the construction of the hospital,” PTI Chairman told media.
