Shaheed Lt Col Iftikhar laid to rest with military honour

MULTAN: Shaheed Lt Col Iftikhar Ahmad Jameel, a brave Army officer martyred in operation Zarb-e-Azb, was laid to rest in his ancestral area here with full military honour on Wednesday.

Funeral prayers of the valiant soldier was held at the Multan Garrison Sports ground. Garrison Commander Maj Gen Hasnaat Amir Gilani, senior civil and military officers and a large number of people attended Namaz-e-Janaza, says a press release issued by ISPR Multan.

A wreath was laid on the grave of the brave soldier on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff. Notables of the area also laid wreath on his grave.

Lt Col Iftikhar Ahmad Jameel had joined Pakistan Army in 1997 and served the country in different positions in the armed forces. He was deputed to join operation Zarb-e-Azb and embraced Shahadat while serving the motherland.
