KARACHI: Central amir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq Thursday condemned Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid’s statement that the government would not let do politics in the name of Kashmir and Islam.
The minister for information had on Sunday said slogans of Islam and Kashmir in Pakistan have always been exploited to take on the governments in Islamabad, which should not be allowed. He had said hoisting banners against democracy and in support of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination would weaken the case of Kashmir.
The JI amir took the federal minister to task for his this statement. “Struggle of Indian occupied Kashmir’s youth is a fight for freedom, Indian forces are committing terrorism in the occupied territory,” he said while addressing ‘Kashmir Solidarity Rally’ organized by women wing of Karachi.
He said our women were struggling at every platform for freedom of the valley including Kashmir itself. “I salute Asia Andrabi.
She with her spouse and family members had been serving in Indian jails for 25 years,” he said. Asiya Andrabi is a pro-Pakistan founding leader of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, a woman wing of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
The JI amir said his party held All Parties Conference in Islamabad over Kashmir issue. Kashmir and Pakistan were body and soul for each other. “Kashmir is our jugular vein and India had seized it.”
“Youth in Kashmir are holding Pakistani flag in their hands,” he said.
