KARACHI: SSP Malir Rao Anwaar, who demanded ban on the MQM at his press conference today, has been transferred, NewsOne reported.
Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali issued orders for the transfer of Rao Anwaar. However, SSP Anwaar said he has received no transfer orders thus far.
According to the spokesman of the IGP Sindh, SSP East has been assigned an additional charge of SSP Malir and Rao Anwaar has been directed to report to Capital Police Officer (CPO).
It is pertinent to note here that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah took notice of Rao Anwaar’s press conference.
In his press conference, Rao Anwaar alleged that MQM is not a political party; instead, it is terrorist outfit; hence, it should be banned. However, MQM rubbished all his allegations and declared it a fresh attempt of political victimization, saying, “It (press conference) was aimed at plunging the city into anarchy.
So pathetic are these accusations and so unimportant is the accuser that we don’t even want to talk about it.”
