Strike in Badin on Zulifqar Mirza’s call

BADIN: Shutter down strike is being observed in Badin today (Monday) on a call given by Sindh’s former home minister Zulfiqar Mirza for registration of cases against him, NewsOne reported.

According to correspondent, trade and business have been closed in Badin district where protest was also reported in many areas, with supporters of Mirza burning tyres on roads and blocking traffic.

On Sunday, Badin police registered cases against Mirza and his supporters under Anti-Terrorism Act on charges of attacking a police station and forcibly shutting down markets in the district.

Sources said that Sindh government has decided not to arrest the former home minister even after registration of cases against him.

Mirza has refused to surrender before police, amassing a large number of his supporters at his farmhouse in Badin.
