FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Sunday while taking a dig at rivals said that ‘now the thieves will talk about accountability’.
The state minister was addressing media in Faisalabad. He lambasted the opposition leaders in his talk over the matter of accountability and tax evasion.
“Bilawal should tell whose dollars his aunty Ayyan was taking to?” he said.
He commented that the tales of PPP’s corruption are in the Supreme Court.
“Where is your Tappi uncle?” said Sher Ali apparently making a reference to Asif Ali Zardari’s close aide Owais Muzzaffar Tappi.
“Bilawal should bring back money from his uncle Sharjeel Memon and aunt, then he should speak of accountability,” he said.
In the same breath, Sher Ali said that Jahangir Tareen and Sheikh Rashid are also tax evaders.
Bilawal Bhutto had said that in the Panama case the PPP wants ‘democratic accountability’.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had warned the federal government to meet his four demands, passage of the draft Panama bill, immediate appointment of a permanent foreign minister, reconstitution of the parliamentary committee on national security and implementation of the resolution on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor passed by a multiparty conference, till December 27.
PPP reacts strongly to Abid Sher Ali’s statements
Spokesman Bilawal Bhutto responded to the statements by the state minister saying “corruption cannot be concealed behind war of words”.
Abid Sher Ali should pay attention to political affairs instead of entertaining others, advised the spokesman.
