MUZAFFARGARH: A key member of notorious Chotoo gang, who had fled last month’s army operation in Muzaffargarh district of Punjab, was killed by police along with two associates.
Bilal Jakha, a proclaimed offender bearing Rs.2 million head money, and two others were killed during an encounter with police.
The criminals were heading to riverine area after kidnapping a man when police chased after them. In the shootout, all the three mobsters were killed, according to DPO Muzaffargarh Malik Owais Ahmed.
He said Bilal Jakha had fled last month’s large-scale army operation in the area during which the Chotoo gang, including its ringleader, unconditionally surrendered before troops and released all 24 policemen. – Samaa
